Châteauneuf du Pape

We will begin the day by discovering le Pont du Gard

This incredible bridge was built around 19 BC !
It is in fact a part of an aqueduct which transported spring water from a catchment area near Uzès to the Romans in Nîmes. It was engineered to carry the daily water supply along its 31 miles. This huge and so old construction is very impressive. This is something you will never forget in your life !

Orange: discover the two important landmarks from the Roman period: the Triumphal Arch ad the Antique Theater, monuments ranked as UNESCO world heritage sites. You will be particularly astonished to see one of the best preserved roman theater in the world still including its stage wall. (entrance fee not included) The old part of the city offers a heritage from the Middle Ages to nowadays.

In the afternoon, visit the medieval village of Châteauneuf du Pape. Situated on the left bank of the Rhone River, Châteauneuf du Pape is world-famous for its wine but the village itself is worth to visit, the castle from the 14th century, the church and its Romanesque architecture… Châteauneuf du Pape is a famous French wine Appellation. It represents the beginning of the Côte du Rhône area, known for its full bodied red wines. Vineyards located around the village, on some rolling hills offer a picturesque and unforgettable landscape.
